Samples & Development Guide

Choose a standard sample or a custom sample

A standard sample helps you assess an existing product, its operation and general construction. A custom sample is appropriate when you need to review a changed length, fitting, branding, packaging or a new design. Explain what you want to evaluate so we can prepare the right sample for that decision.

Understand sample costs and freight

Regular standard samples are free. Custom sampling charges depend on the project and should be discussed with our team before work begins. Customers cover sample shipping costs. Include the delivery address when requesting a sample so freight arrangements can be reviewed at the same time.

Separate preparation time from delivery time

Standard samples are normally completed in 1–3 days. Custom samples usually take 3–15 days, depending on complexity. These are sample preparation times, not transit times. A new development or tooling project needs its own schedule, agreed after the scope has been reviewed.

Evaluate the details that matter to your application

Review the sample against the agreed dimensions, webbing, fittings, stitching, operation, appearance and labeling. Record any changes clearly, with annotated photos or a revised drawing where helpful. If performance testing is required, agree on the test requirements and whether third-party testing is needed.

Confirm one final reference for production

After revisions, confirm the final sample and the matching specification, artwork and packaging details with us. Make clear which sample or document version is approved. This gives the bulk order a defined reference and helps avoid producing an earlier version by mistake.

Prepare your sample request

  • Model or reference product and intended use
  • Standard sample or the exact changes to be evaluated
  • Dimensions, color, fittings and branding requirements
  • Delivery address and freight arrangements
  • Required evaluation, testing and target date

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I request samples before a bulk order?

Yes. Standard samples are free and are normally prepared in 1–3 days. Customers pay freight. For a custom sample, send the specification so we can confirm the sampling charge and preparation time.

How are samples approved for production?

Send us your review against the agreed specification and identify any revisions. Confirm the final sample version, dimensions, materials, fittings, artwork and packaging before we use them as the production reference.

Does the 1–3 day sample time include shipping?

No. It is the preparation time for standard samples. Shipping time depends on the destination and the freight arrangement.

How long does a custom sample take?

Usually 3–15 days, depending on complexity. Send the drawings or customization details first so we can confirm a realistic schedule. New tooling and development projects are reviewed separately.

Are custom sampling fees refunded after I place an order?

Please discuss this with us when the sample is quoted. Any fee adjustment or credit can then be confirmed in the sampling arrangements for your project.

Can I send an existing strap for you to develop from?

Yes. We accept physical samples and drawings for review. Tell us whether you want to reproduce the specification, change particular details or develop a new design around the application.
